A moving story about “looking up to the light” and “becoming the light.”
Lin Wan, a young woman with depression, faints from low blood sugar and is rescued by Gu Ye, a little-known actor. He casts the first ray of light into her dark world. To show her gratitude, Lin Wan uses her baking talent as a bridge to gradually enter his world.
She witnesses him shine onstage, while also glimpsing the hidden scars he keeps inside. With his understanding and support, and amid her family’s disapproval and the blows of reality, Lin Wan begins a difficult journey of self-redemption. She not only heals her own pain but turns that warmth into a career. In the end, she steps out of the shadow of looking up to the light and becomes an independent source of light, able to illuminate her own path and those of others.
This is not a story about a prince rescuing a princess, but a heartwarming tale of two wounded souls drawing close, healing one another, and finally finding fulfillment in their own ways.
