God: One More Look Back is a game-style novel combining mystery and deduction with infinite-loop survival. It tells the story of Xu Ermu (Xu Chenglin), a sea-turtle-soup puzzle blogger on Douyin, and his team, who are drawn into a mysterious immersive sea-turtle-soup game world. The story uses a series of standalone scenarios while advancing an overarching plot.

Sea-turtle-soup games: Lateral-thinking puzzles in which players ask questions to gradually reconstruct the truth behind an incident. In this novel, these puzzles become immersive survival games where failure can be fatal.

· Scenario types:

· Unorthodox scenarios: Include supernatural or paranormal elements. Tianyi (Meng Tianhui) excels in these.

· Orthodox scenarios: Rely on logical deduction and have no supernatural forces. Baozi (Xu Jinsong) is better at these.

· Xu Ermu has exceptional deduction and adaptation skills in every type of scenario, making him nearly a god-tier player.

· Xiaotong (Sun Xiaotong): On the surface, she is a member of the team, but in reality, she is the “creator god” or one of the core designers of this game world. For some purpose, perhaps to observe or perhaps to seek release, she joins the team and accompanies Xu Ermu and the others on their adventures. Her true identity and memories are gradually revealed as the story unfolds.

· Skills and growth: Xu Ermu possesses nearly unparalleled deductive ability. His “review” skill allows him, in the brief moments before a scenario ends, to rapidly retrace every clue and perceive the scenario’s core mechanics, design purpose, and even the hidden truths behind it
