Rejected by His Master, the Mad Dog Begs Pathetically for Affection

[Gorgeous, playful young lady × Insecure, sensitive mad dog]

The male lead is chaste, the female lead isn’t; he’s devoted and humble, she’s carefree; happy ending.

At eighteen, Li Shu was treated as a pawn by her greedy scumbag father and stepmother, who sent her alone to a foreign country to fend for herself.

The same decision also crushed Yan Xu’s long-hidden years of unrequited love. He wanted to use an engagement to Li Shu to keep her in the country, but the family weighed the pros and cons and ultimately decided he should marry Li Shu’s illegitimate half-sister, Li Ruo. Li Ruo was more favored by the Li family, and the marriage would bring them greater benefits. This engagement, riddled with ulterior motives, ultimately drove him and Li Shu to opposite ends.

Six years later, the Li family fell into decline. What Li Shu’s father never expected was that, at twenty-four, Li Shu had already risen from the ashes abroad, building her own business empire and power base. She could even use her influence to acquire the entire Li family.

Back home, Yan Xu had spent those six years steadily consolidating power. At last, he took firm control of the Yan family. His first move was to tear up that absurd engagement with his own hands. The only woman he would ever choose was Li Shu.

But their reunion didn’t go as Yan Xu had hoped. At the banquet, he wore his brightest red shirt to catch her eye, but someone else was already standing beside her. She didn’t even look at him.

The once-mighty head of the Yan family shed every trace of his pride before Li Shu. He humbled himself, with nothing left but a desperate plea, hoping only that she would turn and look at him.

“Master, I don’t care about status. I can be your mistress. Please, take me~” His humble plea earned only a cold reply: “I have no interest in someone who’s been involved with a woman like Li Ruo.”
