His parents died young, and all the village kids called him “Coffin Boy.” Zhang Feng grew up with his grandfather, a spirit medium, and longed to learn the tricks of the trade. But only when the old man was dying did he press the family’s icy command flag into Zhang Feng’s hands and tell him, “Guard this land.”
Before Zhang Feng could figure out what that meant, the village bully kicked down his door to test him. He demanded that Zhang Feng read what he was carrying? The immortals saw at once that it had been dug out of a grave! He tried to throw a punch? The Fox Immortal manifested, scaring the thug into wetting himself. Just as Zhang Feng’s reputation began to grow, trouble struck neighboring Qingniu Village. Children fell into deep sleeps, and adults suffered from ghostly oppression in bed, all because of a wickedly grinning bronze Buddha brought in by a merchant!
Zhang Feng grabbed the command flag and called on the immortals. The Yellow Python and Chang Qingfeng joined the fight, and he nearly died battling the evil spirit. The evil Buddha had barely been sealed when things got even worse at Boss Wang’s company. An underground seal had weakened, and a vicious entity had broken free! Even the Fox Immortal couldn’t suppress it. At death’s door, a fox mark burned into Zhang Feng’s forehead, and the family heirloom unleashed its true power...
Fame brought trouble with it. A mysterious organization set its sights on his abilities, framing him and spreading lies that he kept ghosts to harm people! Overnight, a benefactor became a menace, and his spirit-medium altar turned cold as ice.
Was Coffin Boy really destined to be tough as nails? Zhang Feng gripped the command flag and sneered. “You want to climb to the top over my bones? Let’s see whether you shadowy creeps are nastier, or whether this flag that summons the immortals, my yin-yang-eyed girl who believes in me, and my brotherhood of talisman-wielding Taoists can punch a hole in the sky!”
From little Coffin Boy to the revered Zhang the Half-Immortal, he forged his way forward step by step with the soul-fire of evil spirits and the black blood of conspiracies! He’ll keep the supernatural horrors of the Northeast in check!
