Archaeology graduate student Lin Feng touches a Western Zhou bronze ding in the Qinling Mountains and awakens the ability to be a "Ghost Tamer," allowing him to summon a "Bronze Ding Barrier" to fend off the paranormal. The Chinese authorities establish the Ghost Suppression Bureau, uniting forces from various fields and building the "Huaxia Barrier Network" around historical sites such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and Sanxingdui. Lin Feng and his companions awaken the power of ancient artifacts, using the civilization of Huaxia to build the "Shield of Huaxia" and protect the peace, while investigating the origins of the paranormal and seeking even greater power.
