Synopsis

If you're looking for a job, about to start looking, or planning to switch jobs, this one's for you! This novel is based on real people's experiences of falling into job-hunting traps. It's practically an online job seeker's guide to spotting scams and avoiding pitfalls. Read Tomato Novel and learn how to protect yourself from fraud. It's fun and useful, a win-win.

Dong Shizhang and Zong Jinli's media company is on the verge of collapse, and the online loans they took out are coming due. With no other choice, they decide to shut down the company and use a recruitment platform to find jobs so they can earn wages and repay their debts. They go through every step of the process, from revising their resumes and submitting applications to communicating with HR and attending interviews. Time and again, employers exploit their work for free, scam them out of training fees, or sell their information to others. They lower their expectations again and again, applying first for senior management positions at media companies, then for frontline reporter and editor jobs, then for ordinary clerical work, and finally for basic factory jobs. In the end, drawing on their years of experience as reporters, they secretly film the entire scam and report it to the police, finally escaping the trap.

Urban Fiction

I'm looking for some urban novels, like Ye Lingtian and Li Yuxin, or Xia Meng and Han Dong. The protagonist shouldn't have supernatural powers or cultivate immortality, and shouldn't be pretending to be poor either. Ideally, the books should be long. Thanks!
