The Toy That Got Out of Control

In 2063, a strange, dark red aurora swallowed the stars above the Arctic Circle. The meteorite that followed left an ominous mark on the ice sheet. Astronomy and astrophysics graduate student Chen Xinxin and her companions were among the first to witness the event. A powerful electromagnetic pulse struck them, leaving them unconscious on the ice with inexplicable, eerie red patterns on their foreheads. Meanwhile, a town far beneath the aurora was quietly falling into a silent nightmare. Officer Tang Long discovered that the toys in town seemed to have developed evil wills of their own: plastic soldiers raised their guns and fired, dolls opened their mouths to bite, and remote-control planes dived down and exploded... A blood-soaked nightmare spun from childhood play had suddenly begun. As their investigation deepened, Tang Long, Professor Wan Li, and the others discovered that every transformation pointed to a mysterious extraterrestrial energy known as the Red Network. It could assimilate electronic devices and biological genes, turning ordinary toys into killing machines. Even more despairing, Police Chief An Pingqing, who should have been protecting the public, seemed to have already merged with the Red Network and was secretly carrying out a global harvest plan called the Seeders. From toy shops and plazas to riverbanks and police stations, the fighting escalated without end. Humanity faced not only toys gone rogue, but also the fate of being transformed and assimilated itself. When a red signal tower rose in town and the global harvesting program began, the survivors had to rise up from the ashes of civilization and fight one last battle for humanity's survival.
