Chen Du transmigrates to a world of immortal cultivation, only to find that his original body has mediocre talent, with five spiritual roots, and no chance of ever walking the path to immortality. With no other choice, he keeps his head down in the city and works as a blacksmith's apprentice just to make ends meet.
Then one day, a powerful cultivator seeks the path to becoming a god, triggering a heavenly tribulation that ravages the mortal world and reduces the entire city to rubble.
Chen Du is lucky enough to survive while fetching materials in a cellar. When he awakens, he discovers a seed of lightning inside him...
Once spiritual energy enters his body and nourishes the lightning seed, it grows into a sacred-grade lightning spiritual root. The power of creation contained within the heavenly tribulation also grants him extraordinary comprehension. From then on, he steps onto the path of immortality and soars to ever-greater heights.
Years later, cultivators throughout this world are horrified to discover that the lightning tribulations they face are growing stronger and more outrageous by the day...
