Su Lian, an assassin in the imperial court's Shadow Division, was ordered to assassinate the heir of the Marquis's residence, but unexpectedly transmigrated to the modern world.
Only after opening the secret order did she learn that this had all been arranged by the Emperor. Her mission was to find a key figure tied to the fate of the empire in this unfamiliar place: Zhou Yiming.
On her first night after transmigrating, Su Lian met the male lead, Zhou Chuancheng, who ran a martial arts school. Impressed by her superb martial skills, he made discreet inquiries and discovered that her dynasty didn't exist in the historical record. He concluded she was from a parallel world. So he agreed to help her find Zhou Yiming, but secretly had his own scheme: to keep Su Lian around as a money-making machine.
He seriously underestimated the intelligence of an ancient assassin. Once she saw through his little scheme, he immediately caved and begged for mercy, thumping his chest as he swore to serve the heroine with all his might!
Thanks to Su Lian's extraordinary martial skills, the two were soon swept into the undercurrents of modern society.
As they followed one clue after another, they finally found Zhou Yiming himself. Only then did they realize the wheels of fate had already begun to turn, and that these two people from different eras were the meeting point between two different timelines…
