When Shi Yi woke up, he found himself the most miserable guy in the apocalypse: the owner of a little convenience store on the verge of closing down. As he contemplated life over some expired canned food, the [Apocalypse Street Stall King System] came crashing down on him. He thought he'd be punching mutant creatures and stomping wasteland overlords, but the System's mission was:
"Host, please sell ten packs of spicy strips today. Reward: 5 System points."
"New mission: Lower the lottery machine's winning rate to 0.1%, then successfully get three customers to win facial tissues."
Shi Yi: "...Do you have some kind of misunderstanding about what it means to run a street stall?"
To stay alive, Boss Shi began his career as a crooked merchant: while everyone else stockpiled food, he stockpiled merchandise; while everyone else fought monsters, he made sales pitches.
"Warrior, interested in buying a weapon? Free maintenance with every zombie kill!"
"Miss, we just got new skincare products. They protect against radiation and sunburn!"
When a zombie horde descended and everyone trembled in fear, Shi Yi grabbed a megaphone:
"Clearance sale! Buy two bombs, get one free! First come, first served!"
Customers wailed, "Boss, can't we wait until we're alive before talking business?"
Shi Yi smiled. "Sorry, this shop doesn't do credit."
One of his men couldn't take it anymore. "Boss, aren't you worried your black heart will give you nightmares?"
Shi Yi calmly kept the books. "No. I count money until my hands cramp."
