[Two powerful leads + showbiz + childhood friends + variety show livestream + groveling romance | Sharp-tongued, radiant actress vs. scheming tycoon]
Lin Wei is hailed as the actress least likely to ever have a scandal rock her career: a phenomenal performer, stunningly beautiful, and clever to boot.
She has just one “blemish”: she looks remarkably like the unattainable girl in the heart of business tycoon Gu Shiyan.
The whole internet is wondering: How long can Lin Wei keep playing the “stand-in”?
That is, until the two appear together on a wildly popular variety show.
At first:
He instinctively picks the style favored by his “beloved.”
Lin Wei, smiling: “Mr. Gu, your taste has been consistently bad for ten years...”
He tries to show off the charm of a domineering CEO.
Lin Wei, offhandedly: “Oh? You mean Mr. Gu, who climbed a tree as a kid, got stuck, and cried?”
The livestream explodes: #MrGuLosesHisImage #LinWeiHasGuts #WhyIsTheStandInIgnoringTheScript
Gu Shiyan realizes this “stand-in” doesn’t just talk back and expose his embarrassing past. She’s also every bit as capable as he is.
She isn’t the hazy image of the girl in his memories. She’s a one-of-a-kind, dazzling sun.
Later, when the real girl appears and laughs as she sets the record straight, “Mr. Gu has always liked Miss Lin for who she is.”
Later, when Gu is photographed late at night blocking the entrance to Lin Wei’s home, his voice lower than ever: “Weiwei, I was blind.”
Later, when Lin Wei wins the Best Actress award, Gu Shiyan can’t take his eyes off her for even a moment.
Watch as this sharp-tongued actress builds her career while taking the domineering CEO from “blind” to “blind.”
This is a lighthearted, sweet story about two people choosing each other, joining forces as equals, and childhood friends finally ending up together.
