The story happened in 1980 in Jiangyan Village, Denong County, Jichun Province in the northeast. Lao Fu's family fished and opened a tofu shop. From the small workshops with squeaking stones to the modern factories with roaring machines; from the fields in Jiangyan Village, to the vast farmland in Sanjiang, to the noisy market in the south and the negotiation table of capital games. The protagonist Bai Hui goes from a simple peasant woman carrying a basket to selling food to a corporate leader who controls a group and faces the storm of the times... Bai Hui and her family stumble forward all the way with the stubbornness, hard work and conscience endowed by the black soil. This is the history of a family's struggle and a microcosm of the ups and downs of China's rural economy. In the story, there is the roar of machines and the sound of books; there is the mellow aroma of beans and the coldness of capital; there is persistence in taking root in the country, and there is also the desire to go global. It tells the story of how three generations of the Fuji family used their wisdom, sweat and even tears to forge a simple scent of beans into a family fortune worth protecting, and how they searched for the endless answer in the torrent of the times. "The Book of Fortune" is a family epic filled with the fireworks of the world and the atmosphere of the times. It pays tribute to all the ordinary people who work hard on the land and have the courage to change.
