Northeast Earth Immortal Affairs Office

Gu Fanxing lives by one creed: work hard enough to outdo everyone else, then use superstition to soothe herself. That is, until an absurd livestream mishap gets her blamed and fired, and she starts stepping in dog poop and suffering a streak of bad luck so intense it practically smokes. Then her shaman grandmother from their old home in Northeast China summons her back with an urgent phone call.

She thinks she's only laying low, but what awaits her is the household guardian spirit enshrined by the heated kang, a weasel knocking on her door at midnight to ask, “Do I look more like a person or a god?”, and Hu Tianyao, a stunningly handsome, sharp-tongued, fastidious fox spirit. She's forced to accept that she has a once-in-a-millennium “incense bone” constitution, and that if she doesn't establish a spirit altar and become a spirit medium, she'll be in for terrible misfortune.

And so the former urban workaholic lands a new job as CEO of the Northeast Earth Immortal Affairs Office, with fox, weasel, hedgehog, snake, and rat spirits as her employees. Every one of them is a handful. To support this whole household of “nonhuman staff,” Gu Fanxing has a brainwave: livestream exorcisms, answer questions online, and sell spirit-themed merchandise! Using new-media know-how to run a thousand-year-old spirit altar, she pairs goofy commentary with the real power of immortals and unexpectedly goes viral across the internet.

From then on, her KPIs change from “get promoted and earn a raise” to “exterminate demons and vanquish evil.” She handles bizarre paranormal cases, trades wits with the cold-faced fox master, and deals with malicious reports from jealous rivals. Watch this modern office girl manage a traditional spirit team with scientific (?) methods, make her way through daily life where comedy and horror go hand in hand, take the Northeast's world of mysticism by storm, and maybe even become a top-tier star spirit medium!
