The world is the inner ecosystem of the growing giant tree "Primordial Origin Tree," and cultivation is the means by which it draws nourishment. The protagonist, Ling Chen, awakens the "Eye of the Void," allowing him to see and exploit "loopholes" in the world's laws. He embarks on a path of defiance against the very nature of the world.
