I Prove My Worth Through Medicine

The protagonist, Lin Yan, grew up in the squalid back alleys of the common folk and inherited his father's small apothecary. He spends his days treating the illnesses of his neighbors. His medical skills are solid, but limited to the "medicine of ordinary people." When he refuses to be hired by the powerful, they suppress him, yet he remains true to his original conviction: "A doctor must treat the poor as well."
