[Mutual devotion + devoted to each other + inner thoughts + unapologetically satisfying + apocalypse powerhouse vs. dark, sharp-tongued big bad!]
Si Yao was a powerhouse in the apocalypse, and a master of secret identities.
She never expected to wake up inside a book as the male lead’s doomed first love, a cannon-fodder character who dies early.
Worst of all, she opens her eyes just as she’s about to be poisoned to death. No need to panic. First, beat her into a pulp.
Male lead: “Yao’er, Jiaojiao will be your future sister-in-law. You need to treat her with respect from now on.”
Most absurd of all, the male lead gives her an amnesia drug and lies that he’s her real brother.
Si Yao: I’m faking it, faking it, faking it. Get it? You really think you’re my brother?
So before she leaves, she gives them a parting gift.
After she meets the big bad, one thrilling event after another follows.
And so begins their life together: You set the fire, I’ll keep watch. You kill, I’ll hand you the knife. Every day is spent either killing people or taking down scumbags.
Later, the apocalypse’s deranged male supporting character comes after her and begs for forgiveness on his knees. “Xiao Yao’er, I was wrong. Let’s forget the past and start over, okay?”
The male lead regrets it too. “Yao’er, come back. I shouldn’t have pushed you away just to let someone else claim the title of my savior. You’ve always been the one I love.”
The big bad: “Yaoyao, now that you have a cute puppy, are you going to abandon your little fox?” He looks utterly aggrieved.
Si Yao: Oh no, how could I forget the little fox? But I can’t bear to part with the cute puppy either! How am I supposed to choose?
Much later, the big bad discovers that the younger cute puppy is actually him, and happily spins around in circles.
I like the male protagonist, but his mouth is so poisonous that Bai Lianhua fainted from his scolding. 🤭🤭
