"The First Robbery in the Northwest" focuses on the huge theft at the residence of Ningxia warlord Ma Hongkui in 1933. The origin of the story can be traced back to 1930, when Ma Hongkui stole the jade ultimatum of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty in Tai'an, triggering a pursuit by his descendant Li Chongyuan.
Li Chongyuan tried to retrieve the treasure several times to no avail, so he hired "Snitch" Zeng Yifei and "Gone on the Grass" to steal the treasure. Zeng Yifei carefully planned and used prostitute Wang Juli to break into Ma's Mansion to obtain information. He infiltrated into Ma's Mansion twice and finally succeeded when the guard was lax.
Yinchuan Interpol Cha Weiyuan traced it all the way to Tianjin, captured Zeng Yifei at the transaction site, and recovered the jade certificate. But Zeng Yifei escaped from prison bizarrely in the British Concession, and the whereabouts of the jade ultimatum became a mystery. Many years later, Zeng Yifei was executed by the Japanese army, and the traces of the jade certificate were completely disappeared, leaving only this legendary unsolved case that spanned many places and involved many forces, and became an anecdote in the modern history of the Northwest.
