[Marriage first, love later / pretending becomes reality / lighthearted, sweet romance / one-on-one, both leads are devoted to each other]
[Reserved, sharp-tongued rich heir VS quirky, money-loving girl]
-
On a stormy night, Ning Qiu is picking up bottles by the sea when she happens upon a man in need and takes him back to an abandoned fishing hut. She claims it is her home and gets him through three days with bread and simple tea.
When the Sheng family comes looking, Ning Qiu watches from behind a distant reef as he is driven away in a luxury car.
She knows they come from vastly different worlds and should not get too involved with each other.
-
Half a month later, Ning Qiu sneaks into a public banquet to grab a free meal, only to realize that the man onstage in a suit is Sheng Huaijing, the same man who had been utterly helpless in the fishing hut.
Sheng Huaijing recognizes her and pulls her into a corner. “I went back to look for you. Why weren't you there?”
Ning Qiu tells him the truth. “That wasn't my home. I don't have a home.”
After a brief silence, Sheng Huaijing proposes a deal. “Then I'll give you a home. Help me get out of this arranged marriage, and I'll make sure you never have to worry about food or clothes for the rest of your life.”
-
To keep their promise, Ning Qiu shows up at Sheng Huaijing's engagement party holding a forged pregnancy test report and weeping like a flower drenched in rain.
Sheng Huaijing shields her and declares that he will marry no one but her.
The Sheng family has no choice but to give in, and the two “marry because of the baby.”
After the wedding, Sheng Huaijing throws himself into his career, while Ning Qiu spends her days shopping, getting beauty treatments, eating, and having fun, living the carefree life every rich man's wife envies.
That is, until word reaches Sheng Huaijing that Ning Qiu hired male models to keep her company on her birthday.
Sheng Huaijing tosses her onto the bedroom bed. “Have you forgotten we have a ‘child’?”
Ning Qiu backs away guiltily. “But it's not real...”
Sheng Huaijing leans in and bites her lip. “Then let's make it real.”
Warmth + Identity Difference + Slow Pace. It is a very warm novel. The pace is relatively slow. I don't see anything that makes me crazy so far. The heroine is very sincere, cute and simple. The identity gap between the male and female protagonists is relatively large, a bit like "Cinderella and the Prince". It's quite good-looking. The male and female protagonists get along very harmoniously. There are no clichéd slap-in-the-face plots at the moment. The overall story is more heartwarming and everyday.
Super beautiful, looking forward to the follow-up 🥰
