After failing his tribulation, Chu Yan, the Demon Lord of the Nine Heavens, transmigrates into a modern city and takes over the body of Zhao Yan, a young man at the bottom of society. He soon discovers that spiritual energy on Earth has run dry, demonic energy is stirring beneath the surface, and the neon-lit city conceals ruins and descendants of the ancient war between immortals and demons. Armed with the Demon Lord's memories and a mysterious Prison-Suppressing Command, he rises from obscurity, dominates the city, explores secret realms, and battles evil cultivators in the Dark Abyss. At last, he uncovers the truth behind the “Age of Declining Dharma”: Earth is actually a fragment of the prison sealing the Heavenly Demon Lord.
