A blast from the past: my mortifying memories.
Brace yourself! This book brings together four “masterpieces” I wrote in middle school ten years ago: The Ice Queen’s Journey Through Time, The Unfinished Shore, My Vampire Lover, and more.
Here you’ll find: angsty teenage years where everyone deserves a Nobel Prize in Literature, and Mary Sue plots so cringe-inducing they’ll have you digging out the Terracotta Army with your toes. You’ll finish feeling thoroughly refreshed from secondhand embarrassment.
This is a brave act of public self-humiliation, a journey back through my embarrassing past. Come on, let’s use our toes today to pay tribute to the “brilliant” writer we were yesterday! (Keep your slippers handy while reading, in case you dig right through the floor.)
These aren’t just my embarrassing old stories, they’re the memories of an entire generation’s youth!
Story 1, The Ice Queen’s Journey Through Time: an ice queen, a demonic prince, a domineering general, a scheming concubine, a magical jewel that makes someone transmigrate, a failed suicide attempt, a body-double romance, siblings reunited, and other old-school melodramatic tropes.
Story 2, The Unfinished Shore: school life, assassins, mystery, revenge, ethics, love triangles, chuunibyou, angst, a red spider lily keepsake, and an ending where everyone gets a bad ending.
Story 3, Bloody Romance: My Vampire Lover: vampires, the Church, chuunibyou, romance, fantasy, Mary Sue, resurrection, betrayal, angst, and two souls in one body.
Story 4, The Ice Girl and the Ghosts: mystery + the supernatural + best friends + school life + romance + enemies.
Depending on how things go, I might add the even more Mary Sue stories I wrote in elementary school over ten years ago. I wrote them all by hand in my homework notebooks, and I get so embarrassed reading them now.
Different from expectations, it has practical educational significance
