This work is based on the era when Tang Monk returned to the Tang Dynasty after studying Buddhist scriptures in "Journey to the West" as the background, telling another amazing journey buried in the dust of history. Huijue, an eminent monk in the late Sui Dynasty, traveled westward to seek Buddhist scriptures under the orders of Emperor Yang. He stayed in Tianzhu for eighteen years, but was shocked to hear that his country had changed dynasties. They collected strange animals, met old friends, debated sutras with their lives in the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Senluo Hall, and inquired about the truth of heaven in the midst of human tribulations.
This is a tragic epic in which mortals join hands to fight against the layout of gods and Buddhas, and a dark record of forgotten blood and tears on the way to seek scriptures. When true and false scriptures meet, when grand narratives collide with small truths, who can truly save all sentient beings?
