The Memory Weave is a science fiction story about the “Eternal Memory Weave” in a new cosmic era, exploring the legacy of civilization and the preservation of memory.
In the story, the “Eternal Memory Weave” is the “lifeblood of civilization” in the new universe, connecting the memories of five thousand planets. The elder Xing Heng of Blue Star and his great-grandson Xing Xiao witness the Weave’s continued growth. When a new “Star Sprout civilization” emerges, Xing Xiao travels to the Mistveil Galaxy as an emissary, only to encounter a “newborn amnesiac” devouring the memories of its civilization. Drawing on the power of memories left in the Weave by guardians of the old universe, including A Zhe, Lin Ye, and Su Mei, Xing Xiao joins forces with the Star Sprout people’s emotional memories to dispel the “Mist of Forgetting” and connect the luminous threads of their civilization to the Weave. Through these events, the story conveys the importance of passing memories down through generations, as well as the weavers’ mission and faith: to protect civilization and give every civilization the courage to face the future.
