[A devoted romantic hero at first, then a brooding, obsessive male lead ✘ an optimistic heroine, with forced love]
Second chance at love / Taming-the-dog romance / Power couple / Intense push and pull / The hero's long road to winning her back
In her previous life, Shen Jiaojiao was stripped of her family's wealth and left to die on the streets. Reborn, she chooses Bo Sili, a man cast out by his family, as her pawn in revenge. She helps him reclaim his identity and pretends to love him, only to be drawn into his tender trap.
Just as happiness seems within reach, her enemy Zhou Yan, who has also been reborn, tells her the truth. Heartbroken, she spends one night with Bo Sili to say goodbye, then disappears without a trace.
Ten years later, she returns in glory as an internationally acclaimed movie star, only to run into that man again at the height of her fame. The engagement ring on his finger gleams painfully bright, but his gaze still burns as fiercely as ever. “Engaged?” he says with a faint smile. “So what?” After ten years of searching, he returns with overwhelming force. He'll use every means at his disposal to win her back, body and soul, whatever the cost. A game that began with revenge will, in the end, be played in the name of love, until death do them part.
