Defenders of the Homeland: Nanjing, 1937

To dear readers: Hello! When you open this book (or click on this article), please allow me to extend my most sincere greetings to you. I am a novice author who has just embarked on the journey of writing. At this moment, I am writing this letter to you with a little anxiety, but more with excitement and gratitude. For me, writing is a journey of dialogue with myself and an attempt to connect with the world. Every word, every sentence carries my clumsy exploration of stories, emotions or thoughts. Maybe my writing is still green and my narrative is not yet mature, but I think it is this "newness" that makes me cherish every opportunity I share with you even more. If you are willing to give me a little time and a little patience, and allow me to slowly transform the pictures in my heart and the sounds in my mind into the words in front of you, I will be very honored. Your reading not only accompanies my growth, but is also the most important light and power in this journey. At the same time, I am also looking forward to hearing your voice - whether it is criticism, suggestions, or resonance and feelings. Your feedback will be my most precious gift on the way forward. Finally, thank you for giving a new author a chance. I hope these words can bring you a touch, a little warmth, or a simple moment of joy at some moment. Sincerely thank you, a novice author Yours sincerely
