The background of the story is that in the autumn of 1938, the Japanese army captured Yancheng, an important town in northern Jiangsu, and approached Longcha Port. It mainly tells the story of Chen Tieshan, the son of a fisherman, who rebelled in anger because his family was harmed, and gathered his companions to form the "Longcha Port Anti-Japanese Team" to use the favorable terrain of rivers, lakes, and reed swamps to fight against the Japanese invaders.
