Since ancient times, strange tales have abounded among the common folk, and the far reaches of the martial world are full of extraordinary people. In the Great Qian Dynasty, four mysterious and sinister professions are known collectively as the "Four Rakshasa Trades." Their practitioners can deal with ghosts and spirits, determine life and death, and decide the fate of the world. A saying among the common folk goes: "The executioner's blade hangs on the wall; the coroner's eyes see all; the paper craftsman's work looks lifelike; the leatherworker's needle and thread stitch the skin back together."
Chen Pi, an apprentice corpse-sewer born to humble beginnings, was stitching up an unknown woman's corpse on a rainy night when he unexpectedly saw his mentor, Old Ghost, reflected in the woman's eyes as he was tortured to death. To find the real culprit, Chen Pi uses his Yin-Yang Eyes, which can see the lingering obsessions of departed souls, and steps into this eerie, unfathomable underworld.
