A modern family of three (mother Su Lan, a business executive, father Lin Jianguo, a mechanical technician, and daughter Lin Xiaoxing, a high school student) + distant relatives from their hometown accidentally traveled together to the poor village "Xinghua Village" during the Renzong period of the Northern Song Dynasty.
