Servant Disciple: I Grow Stronger by Absorbing Villains' Luck

My name is Cao Wang, the most useless odd-job disciple in the Qingyun Sect. My job is to dispose of discarded magical treasures.

With the odd-job department about to be shut down, I was about to lose my livelihood. As I waited in despair to be fired, a line of text suddenly appeared before my eyes.

[Warning: A low-grade villain detected within ten meters, attempting to steal discarded magical treasures!]

I looked up in shock and saw a junior fellow disciple sneaking toward an abandoned spirit-gathering array plate. A huge "Misfortune +99" floated above his head.

In a panic, I kicked over a bucket. My junior slipped in the water and sprawled on the ground, and specks of misfortune instantly rushed toward me.

The next moment, a System notification rang out: "Misfortune absorbed successfully. Exchange it for fifteen minutes of peak Qi Refining cultivation..."

Without another word, I dashed to the sect's assessment grounds. But I never expected that, the moment I made the exchange, I would inherit the villain's awful tendency to be dazzled by money.

In full view of everyone, I snatched the examiner's spirit stone and roared, "This lousy rock is supposed to test me?"

The whole crowd was dumbfounded. Had this good-for-nothing odd-job disciple suddenly gone mad?
