The Koi’s Journey Through the World: A Record of Collecting Good Fortune

The heroine, Jin Li, is a thousand-year-old koi spirit whose true form is a red-and-gold koi. She has a weak luck buff, but her soul shattered when she tried to ascend because her fortune was insufficient. Using the “Reincarnation Pearl” left behind by her ancestors, she binds herself to a task system. In different small worlds, she must fulfill her clients’ wishes and collect “fortune fragments” to restore her soul. Calm and clear-eyed, she focuses on her tasks at first, but gradually experiences emotional bonds in the different worlds. After having a child, she reveals her instinct to protect her little one. • System: Has no physical form and communicates only through a mechanical voice. Its functions are to provide background information about each world and the clients’ wishes, and to track the collection of fortune fragments. It offers no other assistance and does not interfere with Jin Li’s decisions. • Core premise: The “punishing scumbags” and “having children” in each world both serve the goal of “collecting fortune.” Fulfilling a client’s wish grants a baseline amount of fortune, while giving birth to a child descended from a key figure in that world grants extra fortune fragments, since the child is connected to the world’s fortune. There is no fixed CP, meaning Jin Li interacts only with people relevant to her task in each world. Once the task is complete, she leaves completely, without carrying any emotional attachments with her.
