A broad-minded beta designer? A cold, aloof alpha at the top of the power hierarchy

Yu Yi, a beta college student, struggles to survive at the bottom of society. Used to keeping his head down after years of living at the mercy of others, he is unexpectedly rescued by Li Siyan, a favored son of heaven, while working at a bar.

One is an ordinary beta who grows resiliently through life's mire; the other is a cold, aloof alpha at the very top of the power hierarchy. Their vast differences in status and personality should have left them strangers, but an out-of-control heat binds their fates together.

From their first meeting at the bar and an unexpected encounter at a hotel, to the warm routine of a coffee shop and their eventual connection at work, Yu Yi's resilience and sincerity shine like a faint light into Li Siyan's world, wrapped in scheming and indifference. Meanwhile, Li Siyan's seemingly forceful offers of compensation and protection gradually strip away Yu Yi's deeply buried inferiority and defensiveness. As the shadows of the past close in, from Yu Yi's family trauma to Li Siyan's business rivals, two people from different worlds gradually come to understand the desires buried deep within each other's hearts, through suspicion and testing, closeness and retreat.
