The Mirror of True Sight

When humanity built its first spaceship in 2174 AD, its heart was set on the sea of stars. When humanity encountered the Eternal in 2846 AD, it felt both exhilaration and fear. When humanity reached the edge of the universe in 10092 AD, it was filled with confusion. [The universe does not allow faster-than-light travel.] Have we... built a prison in our minds, or is the universe itself a prison...?
