[Ruthless] + [Powerful at Court] + [No Saintly Hero] + [Face-Slapping] + [Yandere] + [Schemer] + [Madman] + [Unhinged]
Chen Nian, an overworked office worker who died suddenly after staying up all night, opens his eyes to find himself in the body of the all-powerful regent, a man with the same name who is the dynasty’s biggest sucker!
In the original story, he devoted himself for ten years to raising the young empress, Meng Luo. But once she fell in love, she teamed up with the court officials to seize power from him for the pretty-boy top scholar Lin Feng, and ultimately sentenced him to drink poison!
Watching the empress and officials denounce him in the throne hall, hearing the top scholar pretend to be sincere as he stokes the flames, and even having the empress confidently accuse him of “being jealous because you’re in love,” Chen Nian finally snaps! To hell with the rules between ruler and subject! To hell with the gratitude he’s owed for raising her! I’m done serving you!
So the entire court watches in shock as the powerful prince of a different surname strides up the imperial steps and swings his arm with all his might!
“First slap, for your ingratitude!”
“Second slap, for your incompetence and poor judgment!”
“Third slap, for being blind and heartless!”
Three resounding slaps shatter not only the empress’s dignity, but also the rotten court! He takes on heaven, earth, and everyone in between. If words fail, he throws hands!
Empress: “Royal Father! I was wrong! I’ll make you my Emperor Consort!”
Chen Nian steps forward and delivers a mighty slap. “Screw you! I’ll slap you so hard your mother takes off!”
The pace will be a bit slow in the early stage 💕
