A Record of Urban Mystic Arts

Realistic version:

Chen Kexuan, an overworked intern, encounters Lan Qiong, a mysterious little girl from ancient times. He receives the supreme Daoist inheritance, the Heart Seal Scripture, along with the protective Daoist arts known as the Five Daoist Arts. Watch how Chen Kexuan uses the arts of geomancy, medicine, fate, physiognomy, and divination to make his way through the city and cultivate with ease. After embarking on a wondrous, fantastical journey and witnessing the mysteries of a hidden world, he uncovers the secret behind the ancient severing of the connection between Heaven and Earth.

Metaphysical version:

“Give me a number: three or eight.”

“Add three and eight to get eleven. Subtract six, and five remains. That makes this the fifth line of the hexagram.”

“The fifth line reads: ‘Advancement, like a large rat. Perseverance brings danger.’ This means that although the matter seems promising, a large rat is secretly causing trouble, and moving forward will be dangerous. If you remain true to the right path and stay vigilant, you can resolve the danger.”
