Ye Luoli: I Am the Princess of the Undead

When chaos first parted, they awoke together among the crystal clusters.

The Spirit Princess brought light and life, while she was wrapped in the quiet shadows. At first, she was always at her sister’s side, using will-o’-the-wisps to light the way as her sister planted flowers.

The day humans set foot in the immortal realm, the Spirit Princess rushed toward the battlefield. She caught the mingled scent of gunpowder and decay, and her throat tightened.

“They’ll dirty your flowers.” She grabbed her sister, only for her to pull free.

When the Spirit Princess brought home human friends, she began to hide. Then she saw her sister healing a human, flower petals falling onto the person’s hand. The sight stung so badly that she turned and walked away, dropping her jade pendant and splitting it on the ground.

She moved to the edge of the Forbidden Lands. The Spirit Princess came by three times to bring her things, and in the end left behind only half of the jade pendant.

She stared at it but did not touch it. Hearing the sounds of battle from the Misty Forest, she closed her eyes. Light and shadow were meant to go their separate ways.
