When the Mountain Fog Has Yet to Lift

Set in the desire-fueled whirlpool of Misty Mountain Community in Shanyu Town, this is an interconnected, multi-perspective story featuring 15 kinds of social roles, all brought together by psychological counselor Yan Xinzhi. Physical and psychological depictions of men and women together build the tension of flirtation and adultery. The characters grapple with redemption through loving and being loved, the regrets of falling in love and abandoning it, and the moral struggles of renting a room for an affair. Eating, drinking, prostitution, and gambling, the secrets of the homeowners' committee, and corporate intrigue run beneath the surface, while criminal and civil cases and police station investigations weave in layers of suspense. In the end, the story portrays people from different walks of life falling apart and being reborn amid desire, responsibility, and conscience. Full of suspense and twists, the novel makes for compelling reading.
