Huo Nianyun married Fu Ting'an, the Great Yong war god, in the hope of bringing him good fortune.
Fu Ting'an was gravely wounded and fell into a coma, becoming a human vegetable.
Huo Nianyun recognized him as the man who had once saved her life and gave birth to his son.
But after Fu Ting'an woke up, he refused to acknowledge her and their son. He let his family bully her and allowed their son to be killed.
He didn't even want to see his son one last time.
Cold and heartless, he said, “He's just a bastard. So what if he died?”
Huo Nianyun's heart turned to ash. Before she died, she learned that he had someone he loved and was waiting for her and their son to die so he could make room for his beloved.
Given another life, she would never love Fu Ting'an again.

While Fu Ting'an was unconscious, he unexpectedly regained awareness.
He knew he had a wife. Every night, she talked to him and wiped his body, and even took the initiative to share his bed.
At first he was ashamed, but eventually he accepted it calmly.
He thought that if he woke up, he would protect his wife and child and give them a life free of worry.
But when he woke, his wife no longer wanted him, and neither did his son.
Fu Ting'an's world came crashing down.
