Abyssal Mine Lord: From Optimization to Corruption

Gu Tianming, a 35-year-old unemployed programmer, thought his life had hit rock bottom. Then he unexpectedly inherited a broken door in his hometown that led to the Abyss. He thought he’d landed the protagonist’s script, but it turned out this wasn’t a path to a comeback at all. It was a trip into a world of headaches.

Beyond the door lay endless Abyssal monsters that wanted nothing but destruction. And his new job? Abyss administrator! His duties include, but aren’t limited to: cleaning up monsters (he does most of the work), recruiting people to become “trialists,” taking a cut of their energy (like a greedy capitalist), and occasionally repairing the barrier to keep monsters from escaping into the real world and wrecking the place…

He thought he’d climbed the social ladder, going from a corporate wage slave to a capitalist, only to discover he was just a “janitorial team leader” working for the Abyss property management company! And a temp, at that!

To make matters worse, that lousy door keeps issuing compulsory missions: rescuing other worlds, exploring ruins, and even rummaging through the deepest parts of the Abyss for keepsakes! Other people go into dungeons and come out with loot. He goes in hoping the monsters won’t blow him up and use him as loot.

His daily routine is pretending to be poor while paying off his mortgage in the real world, acting tough and collecting protection money in the Abyss, and playing the big shot to save the day in other worlds.

This book is also known as: “I Picked Up a Golden Finger, but Became a Cross-Dimensional Wage Slave,” “Laid Off, So I Went to Work in the Abyss,” and “My Days Collecting Rent in the Abyss.”

This is a funny, bittersweet, and thrilling adventure about a corporate wage slave who can’t escape the fate of working, not even across the Myriad Worlds!

Seriously, is there any way I can stop going to this lousy job?!
