Transmigrating, Starting with Selling Soap

Zhang Jun transmigrates from the twenty-first century to the Ming dynasty, armed with knowledge four hundred years ahead of his time. He makes his fortune producing soap. The Ming dynasty is beset by troubles at home and abroad, and as Zhang Jun looks upon the suffering land of China, he feels a powerful sense of duty to protect Chinese civilization. He builds a commercial empire and amasses wealth. In the north, he helps the Tatars grow potatoes, solving the problem of nomadic tribes invading the south. Along the southern coast, he does everything he can to fund the Qi family army and fight Japanese pirates. At home, he promotes high-yield crops and cracks down on grain profiteers. As the Age of Discovery dawns and Western nations threaten to invade, Zhang Jun joins forces with Zhang Juzheng to persuade the court to open maritime trade. Zhang Jun launches global commerce and opens new sea routes, mining silver in Mexico to build capital and a powerful fleet, then thwarting the many seafaring powers coveting Chinese lands.
