Underworld Office Worker: Starting as a Rookie Soul Reaper

Fired, cheated on by his girlfriend, and saddled with 50,000 yuan in debt, Lin Chen is crouched by the roadside crying when a notification pops up on his phone: “Netherworld Collaboration Platform.” From then on, he becomes the poorest soul reaper in the underworld!

But who knew this generation of spirits would be even harder to manage than humans?

A shared power bank spirit wraps around his wrist and complains, “Someone yanked out my cable again! Can't you humans live without your phones?” Then it turns around and helps him grab a coupon for a phone from the underworld's “Merit for Phones” promotion, saving him 2,000 yuan!

The spirit in a delivery box swaps a bad reviewer's meal for bitter tea, then beats up Zhang Chao for rushing the delivery: “You expect him to fly over here in this rainstorm?”

Even the karaoke microphone mouths off: “Stop singing! A slaughtered pig sounds better than you!” It gets recruited by the underworld as a “tone-deaf singing judge,” leaving Lin Chen staring blankly. “That's the fourth spirit they've poached from me...”

Best of all, there's Su Qingyue, a cold-faced forensic doctor who uses her thermos as a “Yin-Yang detector.” As she inhales resentful energy, she laughs at him: “The underworld does e-commerce now? You really want to buy a merit phone?” Lin Chen is just about to argue when a System notification pops up: “A recommended power bank has been detected. Redeem it?”
