Jade Tempered by Lingering Fragrance

What love could there be in the Republican era? Just staying alive was hard enough! My father said, “Lingfang, you have to live. Stay alive!” Then he pushed me out of Fengtian. Li Mu said, “Stay alive. Only then will you have a chance,” and turned around and exposed his identity on purpose, trading his chance to live for mine and someone else’s. Yueya said, “Miss, please take care of yourself. Don’t suffer so much,” then exhausted herself worrying over me and died of her wounds. Brother Jiadong said, “Lingfang, take care of yourself, okay? Stay alive.” Then he was shot dead in my arms while protecting me… In the end, I… was all alone…

Everyone gets a tragic ending. Don’t read if that’s not your thing.
