Synopsis

Math Couldn't Teach Me, and Neither Could Love

Jiangsu, 2008. Thirteen-year-old Xu Ruitong had only one star in her life: the genius boy in the neighboring apartment building, Shen Yixing, who played a Steinway piano and dreamed beneath the starry sky of Nanjing University. Awkwardly, she used math problems as an excuse to get close to him, believing that formulas could solve the mystery of her feelings. Until he coldly declared that her affection was “an unnecessary error” that had to be completely eliminated.

Her heart shattered to dust, her love turned poisonous. The well-behaved girl put on an innocent mask and began meticulously plotting her revenge. She used herself as bait, carefully laid her plans, and forged moments of intimacy into a sharp blade aimed at his reputation. Gossip spread through the neighborhood, and their parents turned against each other. In the end, the genius boy's reputation was ruined, and he left the country.

Years later, they meet again at work. He has returned as a successful professional, while she is no longer the girl who once looked up to him. The hatred remains, the old score is unsettled, and an intense tug-of-war, born of calculation and tangled with complex desires, suddenly begins... Math cannot calculate the human heart, and love never taught them tenderness. That infatuation that began one summer eventually led to a dangerous game, its ending impossible for anyone to predict.
