In Silent Spring, rookie cop Paul and grizzled veteran Dave are starring in a tragic epic about heroes at the end of the world. Naturally immune, they rally the survivors and battle mutated zombies, convinced they are the heroes who will hold off a horde of eighty thousand corpses and protect humanity’s last spark. Every day is filled with sacrifice and struggle.
Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, financial elite Amelia is living through a realistic Doomsday “reality show.” The military steamrolls the zombies, politicians put on a show, and capitalists peddle “the price of freedom.” She struggles to survive among a makeshift crew of homeless people, addicts, and amateur scientists. What surprises await her in this beacon of freedom, which she fought so hard to reach?
When a faint distress signal from Silent Spring is accidentally picked up by Amelia’s “amateur scientist radio,” two utterly different Doomsdays are about to collide in absurd fashion.
Who, exactly, is living through the real Doomsday?
