During the Kaiyuan period of the prosperous Tang Dynasty, the refugees from the Central Plains, in the wave of "recruitment system" and "expansion of territory", grew from ordinary soldiers who joined the army for their livelihood to Captain Guoyi (mid-level officer) guarding the Western Regions. Amidst the desert wind and the righteousness of the family and country, they understood that "soldiers are not only a means of making a living, but also a mission to protect the Silk Road and the dignity of the Tang Dynasty", and completed their growth and transformation from "survivors" to "the backbone of border defense".
