Li Muwan, the history department's worst student, is mocked for her looks and called "a walking embarrassment to history."
One day, she transmigrates into the body of a low-ranking court historian in the Cold Palace, where she is meant to be buried alive with the disgraced crown prince. Three deadly things lie before her:
1. A book with missing pages, The Five Continents: A Chronicle of the Future. It shows only the next 30 days, and each use costs her a page.
2. An ironclad rule recorded in the histories: in 30 days, she will be dismembered by the five races, leaving no trace of her remains.
3. Five dangerously obsessive male leads lined up, waiting for her to either "save" them or "destroy" them:
The tyrannical human emperor, the merfolk prince whose tears turn to pearls, the nine-tailed fox emperor with flawless tea-drinking manners, the dragon war god who says one thing but means another, and the hostage prince from an enemy kingdom who made her chains with his own hands.
She only wants to survive and change history, but instead she stumbles into a cross-species battlefield of love and obsession.
She changes the tyrant's posthumous title, and he responds by granting her the phoenix seal.
She warns the merfolk about a tsunami, and he gives her an entire sea as a betrothal gift.
She casually tells the fox emperor, "Your nine tails will become one," and that very night he cuts off his own tail and wraps it around her wrist.
She sets the dragon war god's bones, and cherry blossoms rain from his horns into her palms.
She writes "Return home in three years and kill your father" for the hostage prince, but he burns the decree to return home. "Sister, I only want you." The more she changes history, the more it falls apart, until the five realms bring their armies to her doorstep.
With her final chance to write, she faces a blank page and writes:
"In the year 257 of the Five Continents, the Shen clan woman becomes empress, honored by all five races."
Will it be sweet through the final chapter, or will fate return to its original course?
Until the next page of history is turned, even she doesn't know the answer.
