The book has a total of "twelve floors", corresponding to the "twelfth floor" of Kunlun Ruins.
Each layer is both a spatial dimension and a trial of civilization; between each two layers are interspersed "quantum notes" - annotating ancient myths with scientific language from the perspective of future archaeologists.
