An ancient-style Eastern world at the end of days, after the cataclysm known as the “Night of a Hundred Ghosts.” Traditional social structures have collapsed, and humanity clings to life in the surviving “walled cities” or within “barrier realms” protected by special powers. Beyond the cities lies a dangerous region called the “Barren Wilds,” crawling with uncanny beings known as “demons and specters.”
After transmigrating, he loses his memories but remains extremely calm, with an intense will to survive and keen powers of observation. Forced to navigate this uncanny world, he gradually shifts from passively trying to stay alive to actively exploiting the painted-skin disguises and the rules of the System. He still holds on to a trace of identification with humanity, but survival forces him to perform cruel deceptions and kill.
