There are seven bridges on the river. The oldest stone arch bridge is called Taiping Bridge. It is said that it existed in the Tang Dynasty. The stone lions on the bridge railings have been worn away by more than a thousand years of wind and rain, leaving only a vague outline. However, the old people say that they are mythical beasts in the city and must not be touched. The water under the bridge is the clearest, so clear that you can see the pebbles and fish underneath. In the summer, children stand on the bridge and jump down, and the water splashes up to two feet high.
