The Dark Moon Shines on the Nine Netherworlds

Su Xiaowan died suddenly.

She woke up as a lonely ghost in the underworld, with just one golden finger: a Chinese-made phone with a shattered screen and 87% battery.

After tricking the Black and White Impermanence into leaving with AI videos, she somehow became an “Immortal” and even recruited two ghost officers as her underlings.

She wanders the ghost market, mooches offerings, and picks up cultivation techniques. Her powers soar, and everyone in her sect dotes on her.

Then she picks up a “pitiful little underling” named Li Hanzhou.

He’s weak and has a tragic past, but there’s something about the way he looks at her that sends a chill down Su Xiaowan’s back.

Only later does she find out:

When she has to leave for a long trip, he gives her all his belongings.

When she says she likes flowers from the other shore, he nearly falls into the River of Forgetfulness trying to pick one for her.

When she thinks he’s dying, she kisses him through her tears. After he wakes up, he asks, “Wan’er, were you lusting after my good looks?”

She gives up pretending: “I was! From now on, you’re mine!”

Meanwhile, back in the world of the living, Yun the skinflint has never been able to let her go.

After she left, his fridge was stuffed with all her favorite snacks.

When she sneaks into his villa at midnight to enjoy the air-conditioning, move his fountain pen, or occasionally float into the bathroom to look at his abs...

He knows. He just doesn’t say anything.

Then, after a long time, she stops coming.

He begins cultivating the ability to leave his body.

No matter life or death, no matter the divide between yin and yang, he’s going to the underworld to find her.

When he finally steps into that hazy world,

there’s already a man standing beside her.

The two men face each other for the first time, with the divide between yin and yang between them.

One has guarded her through three thousand years of reincarnation.

The other has broken into the land of the dead for her.

And she stands between them. Wait... do you two know each other?
