Thirty-year-old Su Ye has hit rock bottom in life. His wife disappeared mysteriously, he was burdened with huge debts, and he was struggling to survive with his five-year-old daughter Su An, and he was about to be evicted. Just when he was desperate, a mysterious will from his missing wife led him to a building that did not exist on the map - [Eternal Night Museum].
He thought he had inherited a glimmer of hope, but he didn't expect that he would become the new director of this living museum. The "exhibits" here are taboo objects and terrifying creatures from the dust of history, myths and legends, and unknown dimensions. They are sleeping in the exhibition hall, each of them has the power to subvert the world.
"Exhibit 004: The red hijab of the crying bride. Status: Awakening. Soothing plan: A child of about five years old is required to sing a nursery rhyme for her. Warning: If the soothing fails, her 'sobbing' will cover the whole city, and all listeners will fall into endless sadness until they die of heart failure."
Looking at the instructions in the manual, and then at his fearless daughter who was humming a tune beside her, Su Ye held the milk bottle in one hand and wiped the cold sweat with the other.
"An An, don't be afraid, dad is here... Dad is just... A little scared."
This is the story of a down-and-out dad who supports his daughter in the most terrifying museum.
