Modern special forces Lin Feng accidentally traveled to Tianjin in 1940 and possessed Chen Mo, deputy captain of the Wang Puppet Detective Team. In order to survive in the enemy camp and complete the latent mission of the military commander, he had to play the role of a greedy and cruel traitor, dealing with Japanese spies, Wang Puppet bosses and military commanders. In the process of executing his mission, he repeatedly faced conflicts between morality and mission, secretly protected innocent people, sabotaged Japanese military operations, and gradually established trust and affection with his nominal wife Shen Jingqiu.
As the plot develops, Lin Feng comes into contact with Su Wanru, an underground member of the Communist Party of China, and is moved by her beliefs and ideals, and begins to reflect on his own position. He secretly assisted the CCP in passing intelligence, transferring supplies, and sabotaging Japanese military plans at critical moments. When his identity was almost exposed, he was shocked to discover that his boss Wu Fusheng was actually a CCP strategic agent codenamed "Deep Sea". Under Wu Fusheng's guidance, Lin Feng finally chose to join the CCP and continued to lurk as "Chen Mo" to fight for the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in deeper dangers.

Writing with a sense of suspense, the tension and pressure created by traveling through people have not replaced the magic of the story, so it is boring and poisonous.
